Thallus off-white, thin, smooth, dull, with patches of pale orange-brown soredia. Ascomata inconspicuous, black, with a white-pruinose epihymenium, open, immersed, scattered or rarely clustered, irregular in shape, rarely simple and linear, often branched, sometimes substellate, 1–3 mm long, 0.2–0.3 mm wide, in clusters to 4 mm long and 2 mm wide. Proper exciple thin, laterally carbonised. Hymenium 125–150 µm thick, I–. Ascospores 8 per ascus, transversely (9–) 10–16-locular, 45–50 (–54) × (6–) 8–9 µm, I+ blue. CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid. |
